Australian batsman leads his country's bid to snuff out English fightback on day three of third Ashes Test - Travis Head

Australian Travis Head is leading the way in snuffing out England’s hopes of saving the Ashes.

Australia shut down England’s attempted fightback as they moved into a commanding lead on day three of the third Ashes Test in Adelaide.

Ben Stokes and Jofra Archer tried to breathe life into England’s fading campaign with a determined century stand and an early wicket breakthrough from Brydon Carse further boosted their cause, but it may already be too late.

Already 2-0 up, Australia took tea at 119 for two – already 204 ahead with plenty of power to add.

Travis Head was leading the way with 68 not out at his home ground, with England’s energy waning in the field.
